Submaximal / Maximal VO2 TestingThis test measures your heart's ability to deliver oxygenated blood to your muscles. Computer analysis determines how much oxygen your body is using. During this test, you ride your bike or run on a treadmill through increasing stages for a set time period to the point of exhaustion. As the workload increases, so does the oxygen consumption, up to a point. After that point, exercising more intensely causes the body to change to use its anaerobic energy system. Soon after this change, the muscles fatigue, you feel a “burn” and you will have to stop exercising. This test will help to designate training zones based on: - Maximal Aerobic Power (watts/heartrate)
- Lactate Threshold Power (watts/heartrate)
This test/consultation will take 2 hrs with approximately 1 hour "on bike" $150 - includes training zones and advice Sustained Endurance This test has been designed to evaluate your sustainable power over a set distance (specially designed for the Carolina Cycling Time Trialists). During this "All Out Effort" you will ride your bike on the CompuTrainer ergometer for 10 miles. From this test we will gain knowledge on your heart rate and power output over 10 miles. Ride analysis, sustainable power, training advice and methods to improve performance will be discussed following this test. It is often preceded by a Submaximal VO2 Test which designates heart rate and power training zones.
This test will take 1.5 to 2.0 hours to complete, with 1 hour "on bike" time $125 includes training advice
Body Fat (Skin Fold) MeasurmentsA skin-fold test, which consists of a seven-site skinfold measurement to assess body composition (percentage body fat, lean body mass, ideal weight, and ideal percentage fat).
